February 21st, 2010 at 6:32 pmI have always wanted to know what is the best substrate to use in a reef tank. Aragonite is a popular choice but I live in Alabama near the ocean. I can easily access white sandy beaches with about a 2 hour drive. I don’t know however if sand from the surf would be adequate to use or if i would need to buy sand that is found in ocean reefs. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
