Salt Water Aquarium Tips and Tutorials

How long does it take to grow coral in a Reef Tank?

I’m going to start a Reef Tank and I’m getting Uncured Live Rock.

Not sure from your question, but it almost sounds as if you think coral is going to start ‘growing’ from the LR?

When you buy various coral, I suggest starting with soft coral and leathers, it will grow at various rates based upon the nature of the coral itself as well as your water parameters and lighting. Some coral are fast growers while others don’t grow much in the home aquarium.

It depends on the type of coral. Sometimes you get a few corals attached to the live rock, but mostly you will need to by frags to get coral to start producing in your tank.
