Sounds like your tank is a bit small for all you have in it. You said you have no glass top on it, but do you have a light on top of it? How close is the light to the water? Lights do give off plenty of heat. It could be heating your water some. Also if you have no top at all keep in mind fish and some critters can escape. Does your house get hot? I don't know how high is 82f, I use celsius, from 24c to 27c is good, higher than that is bad. You can also get the new Korallia powerheads which transfer no heat and give you rael good water flow. Most saltwater fish are ":tropical" fish and they prefer 78-82 degree water (even better on the higher side). One degree isn't bad, especially if it peaks there. You may want to add a fan though, that would be much cheaper than a chiller and most likely you dont have this problem in the winter, so a chiller would be an expensive and seasonal fix. As long as your fish and other livestock are acting normal, everything is fine I would think. Oh, and please dont put it next to a vent. MOre than just air comes out and debris, bugs, etc. can fall into your topless tank and can potentially nuke your tank at the worst and at the least just give you headaches. Orbit Sunpod? Does it have MH lighting? If so, you could possibly move it closer to 6 inches from the top, of course this would require either a canopy or hanging it, but that would do the trick.
