November 5th, 2009 at 3:53 pmi am sorry Hunter, but you made a lot of incorrect statements in your vdieo. frequent large water changes will generally work, but macroalgae are far less efficient than a dsb or rdsb for removing nitrates. science is on my side with this one bud….(anthony calfo “book of coral propagation.”

November 5th, 2009 at 3:53 pmOne of the easiest methods to lowering nitrates…Find the cause of the problem. In a lot of cases it is over feeding. A fish only needs food that is about the size of it’s eye for a meal. SW fish do not need fed daily, I only feed about every 3 days. Make sure you are rinsing your food in R/O water before feeding. Even flakes. Just for fun, soak the food in water for ten minutes, test it, and then soak another batch of food, strain it, put it in new water, test it.. you will be amazed!
