80 Gallon Salt Water Tank

This is my 80 Gallon 48×18x20 mixed reef Saltwater tank setup. The system has been running since March 19th 2009. It’s a berlin style sump 30Gal with a filter sock and ASM G2 Protien Skimmer and Carbon Reactor . I run two 175 Watt Single Ended MH Icecap 20K bulbs with an old Helios dual electronic balast along with one 48″ Helios T-5 54W Actinic (all in one fixture). The return is a Rio 2100 going into a 3/4″ SWCD and intank circulation is two Koralia 2’s and one Tunze 6025 (modded).

2-175 watt Metal Halide bulbs with a 20K color temp. If you do a 40 it will be cheaper since you will be able to run one light instead of two but you will run out of room quicker. I still need to get a lot more live rock for mine and that gets expensive too… Bigger Tank = more $…
