Can brackish water fish survive in a salt water aquarium?

I want to catch some fish for my salt water aquarium but the water around me is brackish can I use those? I already have salt water fish so I do not want to make the aquarium brackish. Does anyone know?

i know that fish like the green scat and mono sebae will survivie in saltwater tank the petshop that is in my neighorhood keep aduld scats and monos in saltwater tank but adults need to be in large groups of 6 or more my friend has a 125 gallon saltwater tank with 1 yellow tang and 8 monos and they are doing perfectly fine
in fact fish like monos and scats need to be in saltwater tanks as they mature

    It really depends on the species of fish and the salinity of your aquarium. Where you live and what species you could possibly collect would definitely help in the advise I can offer you.
