		<description>&lt;b&gt;Pour vinegar on it ...&lt;/b&gt; &lt;br&gt; Pour vinegar on it to see if it fizzes and if its carbonate... on a sample of it not the whole thing.

If it fizzes you have aragonite sand and taht is good.  Even if its not &quot;alive&quot; per se.  If it hasn&#039;t been kept in moving water it is probably dead, but just go buy a small bag of live sand and mix it.

If no fizz, then toss it and buy live sand.</description>
