U said that u are a expert then u should be giving advice not arguing with a kid..
Experts give advice to people who really want to learn..
Only kids would argue with kids..
The boy only wanted to ask for help and u scolded him, wth?
If u do not want him to waste his money or kill any fish, u can politely tell him the reason..

A good option is a Fish Only or Fish Only w/ Live Rock tank. I’m not sure why people over-complicate things, or turn into like Guitar5525

Because it stops him from wasting hundreds of dollars and killing fish.

  12. PCbassist Says:

    dude, you are …
dude, you are picking on a 12 year old. You are twice his age. Grow up. If you are such an “expert”, then give him some advice. What is the point of commenting on youtube videos and picking on kids?

  13. lukeanson Says:

    look at what you …
look at what you just wrote. You’re the one having the temper tantrum. If you love this business so much then why don’t you encourage people who show an interest instead of embarrassing yourself by being so ridiculously condescending that even my dog is laughing at you.

this guitar5525 guy seems like a real asshole, the kid said hes 12 and hes calling him stupid so what does that tell you

  19. Guitar5525 Says:

    Tropical tanks are …
Tropical tanks are nothing like saltwater, its like a completely different hobby.

Nothing you learn in tropical can be passed into saltwater. Nothing.

I don’t care what happens to you. I already run my own aquarium chatroom that people pay to use. People pay for my advice. I am also a MOTM member on dozens of forums, and I run my own fish store.
I have over 2 dozen tanks running, with 10 show tanks.
I don’t care about you. I have a hundred more people that will pay money for my advice.

  20. ziaolol Says:

    Then i think your …
Then i think your best bet would be to go to an experienced aquarium holder, or a specialized aquarium shop, as setting up a saltwater aquarium can quite a lot of work, depending on what you want in it.

i already have a warm freshwater aquarium

  23. ziaolol Says:

    Don’t, start with a …
Don’t, start with a warm freshwater aquarium first, they’re much easier to maintain. Once you get the hang of it (don’t be surprised, it will need a _LOT_ of attention) you can try a saltwater one.

  24. Guitar5525 Says:

If you have no idea …
If you have no idea what he is talking about then you’re too clueless to start an aquarium.

I had my first SW when I was 11. It was a 55g reef. Nice tank, the only corals were zoas and frogspawn, I had a bunch of clowns and damsels.
Even I at that age was able to find enough information to know what I was talking about. Before internet, simply by reading books and listening to experts.

With all this info at your fingertips now, your only excuse for not knowing is stupidity and ignorance.
